Hi Everyone,
My Plans for shooting outside MGM Springfield, is to get there about 7:15pm (outside the MassMutual Center), and to stay to 9:30 or 10pm. Right now my plan is to park at the MassMutual Center garage, but if that is full to go to the Union Station garage.

If you are interesting in shooting the almost full moon on Friday night, a good location is on Nook Rd in Northampton (I will double check the spot on Sunday). The moon should come over the ridge near the Summit house at 7:28pm.

I have plans for dinner that night in Hadley, so, depending on when that ends, I may join the Moon group OR just head on downtown Spfld & see if I spot any of you there.

For you folks interested in the Moon Rise. I went to Nook Rd today to see if the spot I was thinking about would work. I do not think it is good. The corn is too high to see over. It might work if you are off the road in the field, but I do not think that is the best idea.
There is another spot that I did not check out, but it might have the view you need. It is on the Flood Wall that you cross on Hockanum Rd. If you plan to go on Friday, please scout it out before then. I will not be able to do it. The time for this spot is around 7:26pm. The biggest challenge will be finding a place to park.
I am attaching a picture with a satellite view of the area. The red pin is the spot on the Flood Wall and the red arrow is the spot in the field.

I was in Northampton today and checked out Hockanum Road. The road looks mostly unused and there’s a utility building with parking but you could probably stop along the road as well. The view of the Summit House is good from here. Hockanum is a right off Route 5 North opposite Northampton Integrative Medicine.
Hi Al – Did you get a chance to walk on the Flood Wall? The spot on the Flood Wall should be a good location to catch the Moon near the Summit House.
I saw Larry tonight and the moon is not coming up over or near the Summit House this weekend. The best spots are just a little further up from where we were last time and further back. The flood wall is supposed to be the best, but there is no parking, so we’d have to park where we did last time and have a good walk with our equipment to walk along the flood wall. For those of you who are interested, go to it. I’ll stay back and shoot from the other spot.
Since Larry won’t be there, I need to know who is coming. Please respond here if you’re interested. The moon rises at 7:58 so I plan on being there around 7:30.

For the MGM Shoot tonight, Kevin and are meeting outside the MassMutual Center by the main entrance on Main St at 7pm. I’m still planning to park at Union Station. I hope to be parking at 6:30pm.

Still not sure … I know that I’ll not be able to meet you all at that time, so may decide to pass on tonight since I’ve spent the last 2 nights downtown taking some scenes.
But for some reason I change my mind & I do decide at the last minute to stop on down – it’ll be well past the ‘blue hour’ … ??
